Nine Tools Shamanic Amulet – On Steel Ring Set 1

A nine tools shamanic amulet made of iron. It has 9 tools set on a steel ring which can be attached to the shaman’s costume or equipment. Each tools length is around ~8 cm and the ring diameter is ~3 cm. They symbolise the various items that the spirit of a shaman used during their existence. This amulet can be attached to your equipment or be used for decoration or as a type of keychain.
This amulet was handmade by a craftsman at a local market in Mongolia.

This nine tools shamanic amulet is composed with the following tools:

1. Smoothing Iron.
2. Chisel.
3. Hook.
4. Scaffold.
5. Hobbles.
6. Sledgehammer.
7. Key.
8. Fork.
9. Tanner’s Knife.

The nine tools can be related to everyday use items (such as hook, knife, fork, sickle…), wartime weapons (such as sword, shield, bow and arrow…), craftsmanship tools (such as hammer, saw, anvil, chisel…) or herding items (such as lasso, stirrups, horse comb, hobbles…). The set is chosen according to the need of the spirits, depending on their profession or occupation in life. Some of the tools can have healing properties, some others can be used for protection and some are simply a representation of the various objects.

Some of the tools of this set have ritual properties such as:

• The smoothing iron can be symbolically used, after being warmed until red, to cauterize a wound or seal the energy after a ritual.
• The hobbles can be symbolically used to restrain someone from being tempted by immoral things or to prevent wrong doings.
• The key can be symbolically used in combination with a lock to contain a bad energy within the lock. Once such a ritual made the key is mixed with other keys in order to forget it. That way the lock will not be opened again and thus the negative energy will stay contained inside.

These are genuine shamanic amulets used by Mongol Shaman here in Mongolia. Each set is hand forged and thus unique. Note that as they are handmade the size may vary slightly as well as the shape of the tools. Also expect a little of the coating to rub off onto your fingers and for them to feature occasional scratches.
