Greetings, welcome to this new course dedicated to the Morin Khuur. In this course we will see all the fundamentals that you will need to get started properly with the Morin Khuur. In this course we will explore the origin of the Morin Khuur as well as the Ikel. We will explore some legends that talk about how the Morin Khuur was created. We will talk and see various type of heads that we can find on the Morin Khuur as well as what those heads actually means. We will see of course more practical things such as the maintenance of the instrument, change the strings, set up the soundpost, the various types of bows, the rosin, how to apply it, how to use a mute… So really the fundamental and essential knowledge that you will need to get started with the instrument. I will also give you some advices for your practice in order to get the best of your practice. I will also give you some highlight about the usual mistakes that are made by beginners on the Morin Khuur. This will help you get in the best way possible and avoid the critical mistakes as well as bad habits.
